I have a Q5 with 3G+ High MMI running K_0942 firmware, NO Audi Connect.

I have read that it's possible to import POI to the Nav unit using an SD card.

I have followed the process of creating the SD card via the VW Sammlung website. I now have an SD card with metainfo2.txt and a PersonalPOI folder in the root which looks to be correctly formatted.

When I try to import to the MMI I get a CRC cheksum error.

Could this be because the unit isn't setup for Audi Connect as the POI are essentially a 'Special Destinations' feature of the Connect system???

If so... is there any way around this? I'd love to add Speed Camera POI's to my maps if possible.

    Many thanks in advance.

    TD

Hi. I followed this guide Import Speed camera locations new Q7 - Page 7 to import POIs

I do have Audi Connect though in my A7. It sounds like you have the right 2 file(s) metainfo2.txt and a PersonalPOI. A CRC checksum error is low level verification or parity check, so it seems like there is some corruption going on rather than a problem with the MMI system. Have you tried another SD card. Try formatting to another type - FAT/FAT32 etc.

Tried re-formatting the card, and using a different card. ex-Fat and Fat 32... Got the same error.
Found a set of files on an Aussie forum so thought I'd try those in case my files had a problem but that gave the same error too.

Guess it's not possible without Audi Connect!

Anyone know whether Audi Connect can be enabled via the Green Menu? I don't want to subscribe... just enable the functionality. :-)
