Noisy blower fan

My blower fan is making a right old racket, the noise is coming from behind the glove box. It sounds like the fan is not balanced and is oscillating, can just get away with it on the 2nd fan position but any higher and the whole dash starts vibrating.

Is he whole unit duff (really hope not) or are there any self fixes?

Try the pollen filter, really difficult to replace and if a bit of plastic snaps off, like it did with me, it gets noisy.
