Hi, I have just swapped out my old beyond repair 2.0TDi BLB engine for a newer one BKD I think from a 2007 A4.

Problem I have is the newer engine has swirl flaps my old BLB did not. I have all the pipes and actuator but no wiring loom to drive it

I am guessing my ECU is not configured to drive it so my only option is to have them open all the time

My question is are they open when the vacuum solenoid is disconnected or do I need to connect the vacuum solenoid permanently to a vacum line ?

Put another way when the engine is off and vacuum discharged the arm extends outwards, does this close or open the flaps ?

regards

Ben
