Hello guys hoping someone might be able to shed a bit of light.

In nine years of owning this car, this is the first non routine servicing issue I have had. It's been brilliant, hence owning for nine years.

I have the ECS lamp on (amber). Also noticed fuel economy gone down and idling speed around 1200 which is higher than normal. If I tap the accelerator it goes up as expected and then drops to what it used to be but only for a few seconds then it rises to 1200 again.
With all that in mind I took it in to a garage for them to have a look. they say 8 warning codes came up. They had a look around couldn't see anything obvious so they cleared all eight and took for a test drive. Two came back on:

Rail Pressure above upper limit
and
Air leak on intake

They can't find anything and have said I should take it in to another garage which they use for faults such as this. They've recommended a fuel injection specialist locally but won't be able to get it in till next week so I thought I would do a bit of research, hence asking you guys if anybody has any ideas on what the snag/s might be.

The un-metered air leak is a possible cause. It may be hard to find without pulling bits off the engine, but a leaking intake manifold gasket etc can cause this code.
