Did a couple of searches using "flap" and "cover" but got nothing on this, but I'm sure I'm not the first to have an issue with it.

Car's just over a month outside original warranty and after years of running around with the flap open I've closed it after finding a good SIM. Needless to say, now that I want to open it again it's jammed.

Fortunately some dental tools (yeah, blame Amazon for that - knew they'd be handy for something) mean I can access the SIM if the flap is lifted, but it's very mush under stress and I'm not keen to break it. If I do I'm sure it'll only look like it has done for the past couple of years, but I'd be grateful if anyone knows the operation of the catches so I can try and release it/them.

New extended warranty has a hefty excess so I'm not going to use that facility for something cosmetic.

    Thanks.

Hi can't be to complicated as Manual not motorised. This parts site may help. Online Audi vehicles spare parts catalogue, Audi VIN decoder, Part number search, *** Online. Problem may have been caused by it being open all the time with dust/dirt getting in. As they say, If it ain't broke don't fix it. Good luck.

Thanks. For some reason my browser won't let me access that.

I'm sure it's one of those things that a sharp frost may solve. Pushing on each side seems to eject one of the SD cards and I had thought that was catching on the flap stopping it opening. Guess I'm stuck with the music on there for the time being as I managed to press it back in using the dental tool.

At least the SIM is out so I can rSAP again by default. While I remember, apparently rSAP stopped at Galaxy S7 according to Samsung who couldn't confirm that S8/Note has it. Trusty old Xcover 3 works just fine for now.

I have an S8 and rSAP works straight out of the box. Connects to the car much faster and more reliably / consistently than my old S4.

Useful, thanks. I've not been too impressed by Samsung's support line although I'll reserve judgement pending the return of my son's phone where the bluetooth wouldn't work. He was pleased by the rSAP misinformation as he thought it would be just what I wanted now since he definitely needed a new one. Hmm.
