You have girling-trw. For brake pads you have 4F0698451D 302x12mm. This is for standard brakes. If you have vented disks you need the same code with F in the end and 330x22mm.

I think you need to feel the wheels after a drive, if the brakes are sticking on, the area round the wheel nuts will be hot

feel one side & then the other

Well day started great, sent wife off to get the pads I had ordered, rear wheel off, remove calliper just std fare and easy enough, then realise I have left the piston wind back tool at work, so wheel back on and move onto the fronts, OSF doddle NSF locking wheel nut wont undo tool just skips, so will ask at work if anyone has a removal tool and if not buy one tomorrow.
All calliper sliders nice and free and OSR park motor casing look solid.
Front pads were at least 7mm and rears about 5/6mm, front and rear had both worn the inner pad the most.

Did you change the rear pads without vcds? I don’t really understand what’s the problem on the front.

I think he means that he left the EBP release tool at home. so as he can't do the rears he has just serviced the front brakes.

No I just did the lot so its all done for a year or two, no point going back over the same ground in a few months time, plus car is newish to us so this way Im happy wit the brakes.

When I removed the calliper I saw the 3 detents in the piston and assumed (wrongly as it turned out) that the piston need to be wound back in with a tool, so I brought the tool home to find they just pushed in nice and cleanly!

Then the NSF wheel locking wheel tool wont dig in and keeps camming out aagh!
So buy cheap locking wheel nut removal tool from machine mart and it doesnt fit!

Anyway rears all back together and working nicely on roadtest, battery weak from standing so now on trickle charge and will see what voltage is tomorrow and if not totally happy ( Im a bit **** about batteries) it can have a new one as I dont want hassle from the wifes car.

So allI have to do is wait for a decent locking nut removal tool to turn up in the post.

Just checked mileage and its due its 5k oil change as well, it doesnt rain it pours

Hammer on a 16mm or 15mm 12 sided socket on to the lock nut and use a breaker bar to loosen off the bolt.

15/16 to small so wont work as the lock bolt is 23mm across.
Weirdly I have more tools than you can shake a stick at but what I dont have is many if any 12 point sockets, all mine are single hex.

I think I will pop into work and see what the other lads have available, none had the locking wheel nut tools at work, not really surprising for hgv mechanics!
