    I’ve had a look but can’t find the answer to this one - twice in snow/ sleet I’ve had the warning that the various sensors have stopped working (Front Assist, Cruise etc.) which is down to the VW badge, which covers the sensors, being caked - I’m surprised it doesn’t have a heated element in it to be honest but is there a simple way to keep it clear? I can’t think of what it would be!

    Thanks in advance.

    I wonder if a silicone spray would prevent the snow/ice from attaching.

    Or perhaps just a silicone grease which can be purchased at Halfords, Boots or ebay.

    A good coat of a hard wax works on mine. I used autoglym hd wax and make sure to cover the radar sensors on the front.

    On the glass, cameras, night vision camera and headlights I used rain X and again that works well for me. Only driven in the snow a few times but over Xmas when I parked up the only area on the front of my car with snow stuck was the number plate. (Which wasn’t treated with either of the above)

    Not according to VW;

    Adaptive Cruise Control | Volkswagen UK

    If I wipe the badge the fault disappears.
