    Hi All,

I have a 2003 Allroad that has had all of the airbags replaced as they have failed. I now have an issue where the front will sink evenly, but very slowly. It takes about a week without it being moved to even notice.

I'm fairly certain that both front airbags are Arnott, and the oldest is probably 4-5 years old. I dont think it would be the airbags, because it is sinking evenly and it takes a while to go down 2-3 inches. The reservoir seems to be holding pressure because as soon as I turn the ignition (without starting) it pops straight back up, without running the compressor.

Has anyone else seen this? Could it be sensors? Does the pipework degrade? The garage said it was sinking too slowly to be able to diagnose it without having it for weeks.

    Any ideas appreciated.

    Thanks

    Doug.

Most leaks come from airbags, sometimes you can also find leaks from the air pressur hoses connectors (N17 ). 6 on the valves block, 1 on the compressor, On the front air spring 1 each, On rear air spring 3 each. Testing with soapy water can help you. About three years ago Arnott produced an improved model of air spring (first generation) with Continental air bags also with a lifetime warranty(.You can see the Continental logo on the air bag instead of the Arnott logo) Mounted on my AR been four years Without any problem.

Soapy water spray over all air bellow connections and work back to reservoir etc. looking for air bubbles. Be patient, as a slow leaking connector can take a few seconds to show.

Arnot air bags are rubbish, the vintage you have suffer from bump stop failure which disintegrates and cuts into the airbag from the inside out. A leak in one will make both deflate.

Thanks all for the replies. I guess this is what you sign up for when you own an allroad. I still love it though!
