Hi all, I've got an 1.9 tdi that's experiencing difficulties starting, got to turn the engine over 4-5 times before it will actually run. When it finally starts there's a small power loss up until you hit 2000 rpm then it suddenly takes of as if nothing is wrong 🤔 And occasionally when I dip the clutch, say at a junction the engine will completely die!! But will start up ok again! Could it possibly be a fuel pump issue?

All the computer is saying is engine mount which isn't causing this issue. I've changed the fuel filter at a chance that it was blocked, although it's not due a service just yet, but no luck there. I'm at a complete loss because if it was a pump I would think it would show a fault code for it and I don't want to go buying one anyway because if it's not that then it's a lot of money spent for nothing! Any suggestions on what to try next?

The egr valve is deleted and has been for many years now so that's not the issue. Where abouts is the anti shudder valve located? And is it easy to take off? It's something I've never done before

The anti shudder valve is part of the EGR valve so its you've removed the EGR it isn't there anymore.

Remove the feed to the fuel filter, put it in a jar and see if fuel will pump on key on engine off.
