    Hi guys,

I just got 2010 VW Golf SE 1.6TDI DSG 7speed for my wife. The car is all sound but the heating system is behaving really funny. I have to turn up the temperature knob to fully (Hi) position and then it will start giving warm air but on higher fan speed it might go cold again.
If the knob is on lower position then it is blasting freezing cold air in (AC off!). What can be the issue? Air lock???

    Thanks in advance,
    Pal

I just diagnosed it with VCDS. The center outlet temperature sensor thinks it is around 84 degree Celsius. I tried to reconnect but no luck. Does anyone know what the resistance of this sensor?
1K0907543E It is located on drivers side above fuseboard fitted into the side outlet from underneath.

You need to post the error codes found with VCDS?
2010 Golf GTD (170) CBBB, 5 Door, Shadow Blue (P6/D5Q), Flat Tyre Indicator, Basic Protection Pack + VCDS.

This is the problem! There is no error code! If I just do a measure on the Center outlet with VCDS (instrument panel side), then it is showing too high temperature which explain why doesn't want to heat and only blasting cold air. When I change the vents to footwell outlet then it is heating fine but any other position would be cold due to that temperature sensor. Unfortunately there is no other sensor in the car which I could swap with this easily and only wanted to know if someone knows the resistance of this sensor?! For me looks OK and I don't want to buy a new one and find out that the problem is with the HVAC module.

I know all about diagnosing and MVBs and everything through VCDS. I can see that this thread is mainly about A/C. Is there any specific you wanted to point me there? Sorry for asking...

I took off the sensor mentioned earlier and then HVAC module flags error (understandable) and in MVBs showing steady 85 Celsius. When I plug the temperature sensor back it is fluctuating around 84.3-84.7 Celsius.
For me it looks like either faulty sensor or faulty HVAC unit. The sensor with multimeter showing resistance around 1.8kohms at ~20 Celsius (as far as a I remember) which looks OK to me but manufacturer can use any kind of an NTC sensor which would be different in resistance.

Anyway I just decide to chance it and ordered new sensor. I will post result...

New sensor came in. 11.7 kohms on room temperature. Looks like that was the issue. I will install it in the evening.
