I have just bought a 2003 a6 b5 avant and it has a bad vibration problem, I have owned lots of Audis over the years and never come across a problem like this one, it seems that the gearing is to high for the car, as if I'm driving in to high a gear, but that's not the problem, you can hear and feel the vibration in the car and it seems to get better as the car warms up, but that maybe just me thinking that, I have ruled out flywheel and clutch imbalance as its recently had a new clutch and flywheel, sometimes i can hear a click when pulling away, i thinking maybe engine, gearbox or subframe mounts maybe causing this, any suggestion please as this is driving me nuts, by the way its fine on the motorway and its just passed its mot.

Hi think you need to get the car up in the air and have a good look round it.
What engine is it, what gearbox (auto manual)
Sound like you may have a failed engine of gearbox mount or the exhaust is solid on the body

If the clutch change was very recent, you could check security of drive shaft bolts and flanges.
The vibration may be from a drive shaft or inner cv joint.
