So I have a 2008 Mk5 Golf Gttdi, driving along yesterday and put my foot down and it just lost power from the turbo I assume, the car continued to drive just slowly and with no real acceleration. Anyway went back in the car today and it has the power back again but something doesn't feel quite right and its not feeling very responsive.

Are there any common problems that I can check? is the turbo on the way out?

Also it didnt bring up any lights on the dash or anything when it did this, the power loss just continued until I got home and parked up.

    Thanks!

Thanks.. yes I think I will take it off the car and get a look at the turbo once the weathers a bit better. Only happens now and again.

New turbo needed if you keep it under 3000/3500 rpm it will stop going into limp mode my friend has the year car as you and same problem he drove the car like that for 3 months like this, but I'd get it replaced asap as if it goes altogether it's going to cost you a lot more
