Hi all. I have the option of doing a drive up and down to Scotland. (400 miles each way). My 1.6. TDi is 8 years old with 100,000 on the clock. I'd like to hear your opinions if this is considered a good run for the car, whereby the DPF will be cleaned and clear out any sorts of gunk in the engine.

With 100k on the clock out won't matter to the dpf all that much but a good run will never hurt. Enjoy the drive!

If you're taking the A1, I recommend the Cedar Cafe at Grantshouse just north of the border.

Where’s your destination out of interest?

This stuff is good (I used the petrol equivalent) if you want to give it a good clean. That’s a good run and certainly won’t do the car any harm, hope you have a good/safe journey.
