I have four of these cars all avant B4 tdi one has just passed its mot at 343000 miles and all the others are over 250000 not bad for a car thats "Never were any good" so, I have tried 160w bulbs but not much improvement even after uprating the wires to 30A now looking at Bi Xenon HID, any one got experience of these

What a waste of a comment! thanks for nothing.

OP - difficult to answer, there are loads of bulbs out there that advertise 100% increases in output and I saw some in Halfords last week offering 170% extra output compared to a standard bulb. There is the whole argument of "fit a HID kit, or fit LED headlights" but there is the obvious legal issues / MOT issues. To start with id try the halfords bulbs mentioned above, if they are no better, you can easily take them back. Id also check your lenses are 100% clean and free from excessive scratches / yellowing. There are plenty of kits out there to remove this if needed.

    1. It’s you’re
    2. I didn’t say 160 watt off road bulbs - I’d stated a % increase in power output as sold by Halfords which are advertised a road legal.

It is "as road legal" not a road legal.
