    Hi all
I have my (ex demo) e-tron Launch version a few months, great car etc, etc

One slight niggle is I suspect excessive wind noise at speeds higher than 100km/hr (60mph).

Up the that speed it's perfectly quiet, but at motorway speed I sense a slight noise of turbulence from the passenger side A pillar area. As with these things it's very difficult to nail down, but on (my) drivers side noise is conspicuous by it's absence!

So the wind noise assaulting my left ear is annoying. Obvious step is to seal the outside gaps with masking tape, but I have been busy/ horrible weather, winter, etc the past few months so have not got around to it. Have established that it does not appear to be the mirror, as folding makes no difference.

Visually I can't see anything out of place on passenger Vs drivers side, and the increased noise is only at higher speed. Also the noise is not road noise. I travel once a week on a super smooth motorway section which has virtually no road noise and this "turbulence" is exactly the same in that section.

    Any thought where to start?

    Many thanks
    Hugh

Google is your friend, try search for "Audi Q7 4M wind noise".

Here is some topic on this subject on the US forum:

Yep, had done some googling, generally found references to previous generation Q7, not so much if at all for 4M, appears to have been well documented in the US, but not in UK
As a general observation, do 4M owners detect ANY wind noise @ 100-120kph (60-70mph). Other than the offending noise, the only noise is tyre (20" wheels)

    Thanks
    Hugh

No wind noise at all on my MY2017 Q7. Also I have 18" wheels, thus road noise is very low.

OK, I was washing the Q7 today and noticed that the Rear Passenger door ( the window section) is proud of the car body by a few mm. On the drivers side it's fully flush.

This might account for the wind noise I hear. I will do a taping exercise and see if makes any difference, then bring to Audi to see if it can be realigned.

When I collected my previous VW Phaeton 10 years ago, the sunroof was high by a few mm and it had a racket on the motorway, but that had a straightforward adjustment process.
