hi there, so last monday i broke down, egr valve, had that double checked by a garage. i left my car at a different garage and paid a fair bit to have it replaced with a wahler part. so i picked my car up yesterday and made my 300 mile journey home no problem. last night though i was driving around town for a while and as i pulled up at home the dpf warning light came on. my car has a history of this happening at least once every winter, usually a bottle of wynns and 20 mins on a dual carriageway sorts that. i do plan on trying that later when i have time.

i'm not the most savvy person when it comes to cars so i'm wondering if there's any way that this garage has done some kind of bodge job which would then cause the dpf light to come on later down the line? or could it be coincidence? as i say i had been just driving around town, and this is a common thing for me at this time of year.

more than likely coincidence, you could get the dpf soot / ash loading checked if if becomes more frequent as they do need replacing or cleaning eventually and make sure you are using the correct low ash engine oil.

thanks, hoping it is coincidence. had the car 5 years and every winter it'll come on 3/4 times, except last winter i think just once. i'll put the cleaner in and fill her up in a bit and get on the dual carriageway hope it clears. i'll post up after
