    Hi guys

I’m trying to ensure I only buy genuine, this has come up for sale local to me.. From these pics can anyone tell me if this looks like genuine VCDS? Note Ross-Tech stamped on the interface.

If it is genuine, I assume it will work on my 2009 Mk6 Golf?

What is the second hand value of these?

    Info ive been given:

VAGCOM 17.8.0 HEX-CAN V2 USB INTERFACE FOR VAG CARS GROUP (VW, SEAT, AUDI, SKODA)

PLEASE NOTE: DO NOT UPDATE VCDS 15.7.1 SOFTWARE AS UPDATE CAN DAMAGE HEX CAN USB INTERFACE.

    Thanks in advance

    I would say definitely fake.

As soon as the phrase " do not upgrade the software" is used then thats a clear sign. All genuine ross tech accept the latest software download.

It will probably work with the software provided but using it is up to you......

    Bugger.

I thought it looked quite genuine from the pics but I suppose someone could replicate the Ross-Tech like for like!

is there a definitive way of telling? It’s only 10 mins from me and is supposedly used.

It's fake. A genuine interface would work with 17.8.1. Fake cable don't make much money.

Sneaky.. I’ve never seen one that physically looks like a Ross-Tech!

Thanks guys, I’ll give it a wide birth.

my genuine Ross tech interface doesn't have the detachable lead and didn't come with a CD, and the software updates ok. that's a fake.
