Filled up the screen wash this week and once again struggled to pour the liquid into the screen washer bottle without spilling loads.

Why did Audi put the bottle opening so close to the bonnet to make it a pain to fill.

Anyone able to share tips on how to best fill the bottle without the spill ?

I just keep an empty one in the garage and half fill it with a new one so the car gets filled with 2 half filled 5l ones on their side

Never had a problem filling. As said the 5 litre on its side is the easiest way of filling and when it’s on its side you don’t get the gargling effect so it’s a straight pour.
My biggest problem is how much it uses. I must have used over 10litres last month.
The headlight washer is the worse culprit. Must spray like a litre each time. Audi should program it like my wife’s car. The headlights get washed on the 3rd/4th time the windows are washed and not the 1st time.

I purchased a small funnel from Halfords for a couple of quid, as I too was getting annoyed with the silly location of the inlet.

Isn't there a mesh filter in the filler neck that would prevent a funnel from going into the tube? Do you remove this filter somehow?

    Cheers!

the filter lifts out using 2 fingers.

I like the location of the bottle, it helps to stop it freezing in cold weather

I've not removed the filter, the funnel rests nicely on it (at an angle) but if you can pour with one hand, and hold the funnel with the other, the flow rate is reduced enough not to overspill

I cut a 2L plastic bottle in half and use it as a funnel.

    Works fine and cost nothing.
