    Default VW Polo 'Unknown Fault' 0041F3 – 03-01-2018,03:54 PM
    Hi all,

    Recently had the Emissions Control Lamp/MIL illuminate on my dashboard (VW Polo, 62 reg, 27,500 miles). I had the RAC come and read the code and it appeared as '0041f3 - unknown fault'. Not been able to find out any more information, RAC technician was stumped and VW can't diagnose until next week.

    Does anyone know what this code signifies? Car is running perfectly fine without any noticeable issues but I am meant to be driving a fairly long distance at the weekend and don't want to risk anything whilst in the dark. Just for background, it is mainly used for town runs with a few motorway journeys...

    not much to go on there - petrol or diesel engine? you'll need to find someone with a better diagnostic system rather than what the RAC guy used.

    It is a petrol engine, 1.2L.
