I went to start my 2007 SEAT Altea 1.9tdi today it started as normal but 3 seconds later it stalled I also noticed that no lights lit up on the dash when I first turned the key. Car was running fine before that. Any ideas what the problem could?

check battery voltage, this cold weather is tough on a battery and the voltage may be too low which can give weird dash symptoms but still let the engine start.
