Amazon Music with Audi Connect does not work with the iPhone plugged in or in the charging cradle

Hey Guys,

So I got an iPhone X for Xmas upgrading from my iPhone 6S Plus so I now finally have a phone that fits in the wireless charging cradle!

During the upgrade I noticed that the latest version of the MMI connect supports Amazon Music with (in my opinion) a much better interface than the Apple Carplay interface, but it does not work unless you don't have the phone plugged and charging or wirelessly charging in the cradle!

Is this a 'feature' (which seems pretty pointless to me!) or is there a setting I need to change?

The other problem that I have is that I don't seem to be able to use the unlimited date from 3 on my phone with the app either (I can via carplay!) but I have to use the onboard PAYG 12GB 3 SIM that I installed previously which again seems to be pretty pointless?

What do you guys think or advise? Do I just not have something set correctly?

Sorry, I'm still trying to figure this bit out, not, don't, and, or... I'm not sure if even Mr. Logic from Viz would be able to work this out. Maybe it's just me, can you clarify...? :-)

The app works fine while unconnected from the car but does not work if you plug the phone in or place the phone in the wireless charging cradle?

If I get a chance I’ll try later as it worked fine via CarPlay for me - not tried Amazon Music over Bluetooth.

Amazon music or any media via mmi connect connects over car WiFi not Bluetooth or USB.

Credit to audi for adding amazon music to the mmi connect app. I gave up with it after Napster kept failing and used Spotify on the asi but amazon music on the mmi is actually pretty good.

It works for me whether phone is charging wireless in phone box or not.

What have you got the various phone/communications connection settings set up as on the MMI? Are you Android or iPhone?

Android 6 I think (Samsung S6 Edge+)

• Its connected to my car's Wifi Hotspot
• I have a physical EE Sim card in my MMI in the glove box (no embedded sim - my car was built before that came out) and when my phone is connected to the car Wifi my phone uses my car's data connection over the EE sim to connect to internet etc.
• Phone is also connected as primary phone via Bluetooth
• The missus phone is the second phone via Bluetooth
• MMI Connect app installed on my phone of course and logged into my Amazon account within the MMI app.

I’m on an iPhone SE iOS 11.2.1 and it seemed to work last night. Need more testing it did appear to shut off at one point also I got to a stage where it refused to play certain tracks - might be a network issue.
I like Andy was using the car’s data sim ( the 12 G payg three ) and connected to the cars WiFi hotspot.

For me it all works fine until I try to charge the phone wirelessly or via the lightning cable, then it just drops the Wi-Fi connection!
