    Recently purchased the above car, second avant I've owned. I really like them, especially this one as it's fun to drive 1.8T s-line.

    However the headlights don't seem bright enough? They seem ok to look at, just don't light up the road loads.

    Are there any after newer ones I can buy? Halfords would be idea as it's just up the road.

    You could try changing the bulbs to some good quality ones but the headlight are poor I think on the b6 audi
    eye for an eye means the whole world goes blind

    Thank you, will do. Looks a pain to change bulbs according to YouTube. Just want to make sure I've decent ones in hand before changing.

    its easy follow these instructions

    Removing and installing headlights
    Removing
    Switch off ignition and take out ignition key.
    Turn light switch to position “0”.
    Headlight (left-side):
    Detach cover (left-side) -1- in engine compartment.
    Headlight (right-side):
    Detach cover (right-side) -1- in engine compartment.
    Unscrew bolts -arrows-.
    If fitted, detach activated charcoal filter solenoid valve 1 -N80--item 1- at air duct.
    Remove air duct -2-.
    Both sides (continued):
    Use adhesive tape to mask area beneath headlight to prevent damage to paintwork.
    Unscrew bolts -1- and -5-.
    Loosen bolts -2- and -4- a few turns but do NOT unscrew completely.
    If fitted, cut through cable tie.
    Unplug electrical connector -3-.
    Remove headlight from body towards front.
    Installing
    Installation is carried out in the reverse order; note the following:
    Check whether both vent elements have been inserted on underside of headlight.
    Slide headlight horizontally onto lower headlight mounting as far as it will go.
    Position stop screw -1- so that it makes contact with lock carrier.
    Use stop screw to align headlight with body contours (gap widths).
    Note
    Pay attention to area around wing panel opening when aligning headlight.
    Tighten bolts -2 ... 5-.
    Following installation, adjust headlights → Booklet803.
    Tightening torque
    Component Nm
    Headlight to lock carrier 6

    Release retaining clip -arrow- and detach housing cover for main beam from headlight housing.
    Detach electrical connector -3- at main beam bulb.
    Release retaining clip -2- and take bulb -1- out of housing.
    Installing
    Installation is carried out in the reverse order; note the following:
    Fit new bulb in housing; do not touch the glass part of the bulb with bare hands.
    Secure bulb with retaining clip.
    Secure housing cover with retaining clip.

    B6 lights are poor. Xenon was an option. Used units are out there, but very expensive.
    Popping the headlamps out is really easy on the B6. B7 requires bumper removal!
