Had the new golf 3 months , noticed the last couple of weeks the engine speed on tick over is around 1100 rpm intermittently, so when changing down the gears the car is not slowing down as you would expect , the start/stop has also stopped working (I appreciate you can turn the start/stop off). Just wondering if anyone else has had these issues ? .
This is the 3rd mk 7 I have had , they are a lovely car .This is the face lift mk7 with no visable exhaust pipe and a upgraded front end .

    Many Thanks.

Assuming it’s a Diesel engine you have ?

Could it not be the increase in revs associated with a normal DPF regeneration.
If you have had a few Mk7s (diesels i.e) you would notice this.
Is the Stop/Start always off & never works or could it be it just doesn’t meet the conditions required (as in manual) battery charge level etc etc.
