Hi, so had my A7 2 months very happy, but have question about window operation.
When opening the front doors the windows drop slightly to clear the weather seal, ok all good.
However when the rear doors are opened the window drops slightly after the door is opened!!

I did a VCDS sweep when I bought the car I noticed the left rear door had fault 02111 NO or incorrect basic setting'
the right rear does the same but showed no fault.

    Recent scans show no faults!!!

Is this normal operation or should the rear window drop before the door opens?

    Cheers DS

I'll pop down lunch time to check mine as I so rarely open the rears, I can't actually remember what mine do however my understanding is that it drops for closing the door rather than opening ... ie if you slammed it shut with it not dropping, you would probably end up smashing the glass so that fact the doors do open means your rear glass is not getting stuck in the seal.

I've been seeing a fair few threads about TT's and the windows not dropping as the temperature drops so that's going to be fun!

    Hi Akash,
Cheers, be good to know how yours react.
I checked more carefully today, seems the fronts drop when the handle is pulled, whereas the rears seem to only drop when the courtesy light is triggered, suppose they do 'kind of clear' on opening, but do as you say only fully shut when the door is shut.
Fronts may have a micro switch, maybe the rears don't. Must have a look at the wiring diagram.
haha Yes when my wife's mk1 boxster windows freeze up I use de-ice fluid it's too scary otherwise! its defo micro switches
If it ain't bust don't fix it!

Thanks for reminding me to reply as I did check over lunch!

So mine is exactly the same as yours.. In actual fact you just have to start pulling the front handle out till you hit a little resistance and it drops.
Rears nothing until actually opened and like you said, the lights inside turn on.

    I'd say it's pretty normal

Thank you for checking, good to be normal!
Just received a USB stick WS manual, this looks like it won't be a quick install....

    Cheers Akash
