i have noticed that my nearside rear side light and brake light are not working on my b7 estate. the nearside tail light on the boot is working, just the one on the corner lens thats not. I noticed that one of the pins in the wiring connector that fits into the lens had broke off so I soldered a wire from the lens to the wiring plug, it was the brown earth wire that had broken. Its not the bulb as I have swapped it over with the drivers side and works fine., when i connect a trailer board to the car, all the lights work on the trailer board too, nearside side light and brake light. there is no bulb failure light on the dash either.. any one have a clue where to look?

It's a single filament bulb that operates tail light and brake light. Can bus...what voltages should I expect?

you are checking to see if you have current there so you can eliminate either there is issue with the connector or the lens.

No current at back light cluster. Or a plug going into cluster.
