Hi, I am trying to fix my Mom's 1999 Alhambra 1.9TDi which is slowly losing power (12v) to the rear of the car. My Mom has not noticed!!
Firstly, the rear screen demist along with the high brake lights have stopped working and now this week, the other brake lights have stopped working. All fuses appear ok and there is earth to all.
Is there a junction box somewhere from front to back? that could cause a power failure and / or has anyone experienced anything like this?
Obviously, the car is off the road until I can fix this so some advice would be greatly appreciated.
    Cheers.

The wire size on the Alhambra is very thin and breaks very easily. First thing to check is to open the tailgate and check the bundle of wires that go into the top of the tailgate. These are a common fail point as opening and closing the tailgate flexes the wires and they eventually snap. If you do a thread search you will find plenty who have had this problem. You will also get the same kind of problem with the bundles of wires that go into the doors - this will give you central locking and window motor problems. They are all easy fixes you just need to re join the wires by soldering back together or soldering in another piece of wire. This would give you the demist and high level brake light fault but I am not sure if this would give you the brake light fault, have you checked the brake light switch above the brake pedal.

    Thanks for the reply.
I have already gone through those wires you mention and yes, I found 5 broken wires and 3 about to go. Not sure what else wasn't working?
I'm not sure if the brake switch was faulty so I have ordered a new one which will be here tomorrow.
    Hopefully, that will sort it??
