Obd eleven and Carista

I bought Carista from amazon for £10 Which was a bargain. It does most things babe t I really want to enable VIM Which it can’t .
I’ve been looking at OBDeleven which seems to do everything. I just can’t get the android software to pair with the dongle.
Is obdeleven locked to their own dongle or can I use A generic / Carista dongle ?

Carista can work with some ELM 327 dongles but not all. OBD Eleven as it can do long coding is specific to their own dongle so that has to be purchased separately!

Ok buddy thanks , that’s what I was starting to think .
Carista works well but can’t do the video in motion conversion that OBDeleven can .
