Hi folks, my first post here.

Just by way of introduction, I acquired a 1994 2.0E ABK manual Cabriolet in August, turned out to have a host of problems. Thanks to the forum I managed to save the car from selling it for scrap due to the tip on here about replacing Relay 30 - it was misfiring/juddering and it wasn't going to pass it's MOT. The Audi "specialist" advised it would cost over £2K to fix by the time they had replaced all possible culprits (I had already spent £500 on service parts, coil, MAF sensor etc attempting to improve it myself to no avail). Whereas the £10 replacement part, Relay 30, cured it. So I'm very grateful to the relevant contributors.

I've got a few other issues to work through, this is one of those cars where as you keep discovering more, and investing more, you just can't turn back because you're locked into getting the value back from the improvements you've already forked out for. Fingers crossed not too much left to do.

Now to my "current" issue.... front coil springs. I cannot source any for love nor money. And I don't know the part numbers or how to find them. Does anyone have any pointers on whether there are equivalent parts from other models in the VW/Audi range or better still does anyone know who might still sell these?

The only other option I thought about was a set of lowering springs which do seem to be available but I haven't figured out what the implications are for wheels/tyres etc - which I planned on keeping standard as I have just had some alloys refurbished and winter tyres are one order.

Cheers
