New to the Forum so bear with me.
We have a 2012 seat leon which we bought fairly recently. I was doing the front brakes when I noticed that the front door barrel was loose. I asked my wife and she says 'it's always been like that .Smashing. Investigated and found that the retaining ring had fallen off and set about removing door card, handle etc. Reassembed everything back as it was ( No it isn't) ,closed the door and .....nothing. Handle didn't work, internal handle didn't work.....Nothing.Thought I must have missed something or something's came off when putting the panel back on. So I set about trying to take all the fixings back out via inside the car and managed all but one of the lower screws. So I lowered the window to get at it from outside . Managed it, and tried to remove the panel. Realised that I couldn't because the cleats can be moved far enough away from the door at the dashboard. So tried to put the window back up ,but now it won't go all the way up. stops halfway because something has moved and must be jamming it. So because I cannot get the glass out of the way I cannot get to the handle mech to try and manually move the latch wire. Kinda f'kd really
Can anyone give me some pointers as to how I can get out of this mess ? Is there another way to open the door so I can get the panel off ?
    Cheers

I managed to get the panel off by bowing it and levering from the pillar side. Turns out the small cable catch had freed itself in the process of fitting the panel. I reattached it and checked it was working and refitted the panel. The inside catch works fine and so does the handle,UNTIL I use the central locking, then only the inside handle works the outside handle does nothing. I can get in by holding the unlock button down until the windows open and then reach in and use the inside handle, but it's hardly ideal. Any ideas as to why the central locking is doing this? It all worked fine before I started fannying with the loose door cylinder,so it must be something I've done no doubt.
    Cheers in advance

that sounds like the central locking motor, open the door and use the a screwdriver to close the latch, then spray some wd40 or liquid grease onto it, and open the open from outside handle. repeat this process untill the latch open fully when using the outer handle.
