Dealership is saying they have checked the thermostat in hose and its fine.Now they want me to authorise £800 to take apart the whole cooling system,and i can bet they wont find anything wrong.

Does anyone knows if aircon software update can be reversed back or reapplied?

Fun begins, this 800 is like they asking money for previous tests also etc...bad situation!
Aircon sw can be reverted...but nobody knows, only factory i guess....was this action only involved changing sw of hvac module 08 or some other module settings also...but your local dealer "said" they tested with other climate panels also and no change etc...This "3 months later noticed lower temp" makes this very complicated!

I dont know what was involved in the update,they have said aircon software update. I dont trust the local dealer as they were saying one thing and they were changing their mind after an hour. ive now told them that i want everything in writing.Im not even sure that they have tried to swap climate contrl.I noticed the problem in october,the first available booking was in november.The car is with them for a month.I have the problem only when heater on, thats the reason why i didnt notice in august or september.
I dont think the fun will begin,im not willing to pay £800 . Soon the service cost will exceed the car value lol

If i were you, i would probably try to get them revert car back to factory state(software/settings) and drive fast away...otherwise you pay 800 and never know how much more soon!

Thats exactly what im trying to make them do. I wont be paying that much money for nothing. Too bad i didnt notice the problem before to do the cambelt and water pump.

After reapplying the software the issue was still there. I was thinking is it possible to be a sensor and to not show any fault code? How bad is for the engine to drive it as it is? Can something be damaged as the engine is runing cold longer?

Everything is possible, for example this termostat in hose will not throw error etc...but you should check your sensors with vcds under measure blocks and see if they work same as temp gauge in cluster etc etc...Not sure about your engine model, but i have 2 sensors+rad.output one etc...Also check oil temp.

I have the 2.0tdi. I dont have vcds and i would guess that audi or audi specialist would check that. I dont vcds and im a novice. How bad is it if i drive it like that during winter? I dont want to sell it as the engine is really good. Thank you for all your help mate.

Some people only drive to and from a work 3-7 miles and never get to a working temp 90+C, so i guess you will not hurt your engine, maybe slightly higher mpg.

Btw your facelift probably has oil temp and lap timer activated on dis:

So, just for interest check how oil temp is acting...also dropping same as engine temp gauge or still between 85-100 degrees Celsius...

If you had -15 up to -30 wintertime, then you probably have to fix or swap your car out as you will freeze...but those temp are not for UK
