    I've actually only just got this done as I have been very busy! Looks great though! Will post pics later today!

    I did it in the summer on my A4 B7 Avant but only just saw your post. Ran a cable in series between both retrofitted footwell lights taken from a B5 and then up the A pillar and soldered onto the rooflight so that they dim on/off at the same time. Very simple to do and no error messages or issues.

    You're just the person I was looking for when i asked the question!
    I've wired them up so they're on when I turn the ignition on and I'm happy with the results. I don't mind the subtle red light in the footwells while I'm driving!

    Thanks a lot for that though I'll definitely bare it in mind if I get bored of them how they are.
