    Hi all,

Had a driver enter my lane and smack my mirror at speed on the school run earlier, and not quite sure what needs replacing. Audi tell me I need the mirror housing replacing, though I do have the white cap intact, but seems I need the other 2 parts. Have checked on Ebay, but seems offside mirror housings are like gold-dust, so may need to go via Audi. They are quoting £650 (£430 parts/£220 labour) to replace as new, including a new white cap, though I'm hoping the old one suffices, making it a bit cheaper.

Is anyone able to confirm from the pics below that I do, indeed, need the housing and the built-in indicator light strip?

If so, I'll continue to monitor Ebay/breakers for a short while.

    Thanks in advance!

You say you still have the white cap intact? There is a piece of it broken off and still attached to the frame. if the other mountings are still ok then im sure its easy to reattach provided it doesnt need repainting as well. Do you have the indicator unit, bottom piece, and glass as well? Does the mirror still fold electrically if fitted? and the adjustment motor work ok? Looks like you dont have memory seats either so it shouldnt be too expensive.
Try partshark and doncaster motor spares as they have a fair few A6's in for breaking

Thanks, Morski. All I have is the white cap - the rest got crushed on the road. The 2 mountings did snap off, but looking at the other mirror, the mirror seems secure without them screwed in. I'll look into your suggestions. Thanks for your time!
