    Morning all,

I would appreciate some advice before I revert to the bulb supplier with this headache.

    Audi A4 B8 2010, owned it for 2 years.

My passenger side HID stopped working (turned on, looked pinkish, lasted 30 secs and then cut out - so I assumed the bulb is dead and not the ballast).

I bought x2 D3S 4300k bulbs off HID Direct.co.uk. I put them in and they worked and looked fine for about 2 weeks (nice white light), then the passenger side turned purple.

I swapped the bulbs around to confirm it was the bulb, not ballast, and again this proved to be the case.

So HIDS Direct sent me a replacement bulb, I replaced the purple one, but the new one looks yellow !!

Is this a bulb issue, a ballast issue, or a "settling in" issue ???

    All advice appreciated.

Noup, im not such person...but already your test showed it is bulb issue...it is always lottery with those bulbs...i had one set, one die very quickly....second set no issue for 2 years or so... To many bad reports from everywhere...so i but my money it is bulb as there is nothing to "settling" etc, ballast must die, not give wrong voltage for such long period...
