Finally had the warning come up for the pads at 25k miles and it's been in to Wolverhampton Audi today. The price for front pads & discs was £469.

I'm still shocked how quickly I've needed new pads, and even more shocked that I needed discs as well.

After reading this thread and the prices charged I am so glad to have heeded my Dad's advice and learnt a trade when leaving school, Motor Mechanic. It has saved me a several 1000's over the last 25yrs.

Just had mine serviced, brake pads 70% worn, after 46k. Not bad.

I normally don’t have problems with general servicing of a car and disc and pads are a doddle. Im just too fear of the electronic calipers. If I **** it up it’s probably £3-400,most likely more cause it’s audi, for a new calliper and I’ve seen so many people **** it up in my time.

My pads are still with 40% left after 40k miles. (OK, maybe I drive like a bit too easy ) Lots of 20 miles commute with 40mph speed limit and the traffic that goes with it.

However, they've now been squeaking for a while, and it's not going away. I find it very irritating, and I'm wondering if it isn't simply programmed obsolescence, where this "forces" you to change them earlier tahn you should because of the noise...

So, I seem to be in the similar boat.
During the health check, I was advised that my front pads are on their 25% and rears on 30%. Not too bad given that I've got 55k miles and (almost) five years of trouble free stopping.
I was also told that the front discs have a "lip" and hence need replacing... (BTW Audi quoted 450 for the front and 350 for rear all in).
So, Crasher kindly provided the info on part numbers, etc. and armed with the info, my idea was to hit ECP and just get the PAGID lot all around, sorted by an indy nearby.
Oh boy, before I knew what hit me, the worm of internet procrastination did the damage! I went from "it should all be Brembo" to "Wow, ATE have ceramic pads!!!".
In this process, I also discovered some rather cool online shops for the parts (much cheaper than ECP) yet fully legit - pm if you need info).
So, I shall most probably pull the trigger on all ATE setup (of course with ceramic pads) just because I hate the brake dust. If of interest, it all comes at around £400 for parts (345mm front, 330mm rear with the fancy pads all-round).
Once it's all on, I'll share my impressions...
