    Hi Guys

    First time poster

not long had my 57 plate A6 avant auto. Keep getting amber warning ⚠️ cleared it once before myself By running it on the motorway but it soon came back. If now has engine management lights dpf light and engine oil pressure light on and to add to this the car is in limp mode and the brakes have gone to. Took it to get diagnostic done and was told it all to do with the dpf and a forced regen would be my best option to resolve the problem?

Has anyone had any success with a forced regen or are they a waste of time and money?

Should point out the car only does short journeys and has 174,000 on the clock

any advice would be greatly appreciated

You don't say what engine it is 2 litre or V6. Get a proper scan done and post the fault codes, don't run it until the oil light is resolved, could be the oil pump drive if its the 2 litre engine. I can't see how a blocked dpf can be affecting the brakes. to be honest with you if you're only doing short journeys this will be a recurrent problem, especially if it is the original dpf on that age / mileage. The filters can be sent away and cleaned.

    Thanks for the reply Rob

It's the 2 litre and they said the brakes were due to a vacum problem and built up gases?

Did you buy this private or dealer? You still need a proper scan using VCDS or some other decent diagnostic system, post the scan codes up here with the engine code (3 letter code) there seems to be a few different faults with the car, can't see how vacuum problem could be related to the dpf as vacuum pump is independent of the exhaust system, oil pressure problem could be more serious, do some research on this forum and elsewhere regarding the oil pump hex key issue. If you have the option I'd consider taking it back to the dealer and getting them to sort it.

Wow, lots of seemingly unrelated codes there, is your battery voltage ok? what is the voltage with the engine off and running, should be around 12.5V off and 14.5V running.

see if you can find a good VAG independent or look on the vcds user location map on this forum, a voltage check would be an easy quick check with a multimeter on the battery terminals.
