    2014 C7 3.0 Quattro S-tronic 245-45-18

I'm just about to replace the tyres on my car, and reading some posts on here, it would seem the Michelins are the preferred choice, but which ones in particular? I'm looking for good wet grip, and long service life.
Also what were the OEM tyres fitted in the factory?

Michelin factory fit are Primacy 3.

I guess it depends on the type of driving you do. But if it involves much winter driving, or you value that extra piece of mind during winter, then I would go for Michelin CrossClimates, which are all-seasons and are fantastic tyres. You're lucky that they do them for your size, unfortunately they don't do them for my 20" rims :-)

Not tried the Michelin PS4 but have to say I’m not that impressed with the PS3. Great in warm dry conditions but as soon as it’s damp or cold the traction control works overtime. Another thing is as they wore the tyre noise in the cabin increases. Tyre wear was a bit on the high side too. Down to about 2-3mm all round and it’s done about 10k.
Had good year Asymetric 2 on last A6 and have to say they worked well in most conditions so looking at the asy 3 for my next set. These still had 4-5mm when I traded it in with 28ks on the clock.

    PS3 won't be impressing , they're a 7/8 year old design tyre .

Traded up from the 2's to the 3's this Autumn, so far? very impressed. Feel more direct, more comfortable and quieter. Got 23k out of the fronts with the 2's and still going on the rears so fingers crossed. I hear they switched to using 2 stroke as a release agent, maybe that's why.

I have Goodyear asym 3 . I have done 8.5k mls on them now and worn 30% now. Would that be an expected wear I wonder? Driving 60/40% motorway/town.
They are very quiet and soft tyres. However when I corner on the wet I feel like they lose a grip a little but I’m not 100% sure about that tbh. Just compare A6 to VW CC which felt different. I would buy asym3 again though.

Car came from factory with Bridgestone Turanzas which wore out quickly. I then put on Michelin Primacy 3s which were great. Now on Avon ZZ5s which are long lasting but wet/cold grip is awful - Primacy 3 tyres with 2 mm tread had better wet grip than Avons with loads of tread.
My next tyres will be Michelin Primacy 3 or Cross-climate which seem to get very good reviews.

Hi, I have the same motor as you. I have just put 4 new boots on, I was going to get the Goodyear ASM3 but they needed to order them. Costco have a discount on if you by 4 Michelins.

So I have put 4 x Michelin 245/45 R18 (100) Y PRIMACY 3 AO on the car, and with the £60 off it was approx. £530 fitted, which is not a bad price.
    Now I have - 2014 Audi A6 3.0 TDI V6 Quattro S-Line (Silver)
Previously 2012 Audi A8L 3.0 TDI Quattro SE Executive (Silver)
    2012 Audi A5 2.0 TDI S Line (White), and 2006 Audi A6 3.0 TDI V6 Quattro S Line (Black)
Have VCDS 17+ (VAG-COM Diagnostic System) with HEX-USB+CAN Interface & old style interfaces.
