    Default Squealing from engine compartment – 26-11-2017,10:47 PM
    Needing some help here with my S3.recently there’s been a squealing coming from somewhere when the engine is hot and I’m decelerating.its loud then fades away.if I take the oil filler cap off then replace it it does it as well.the car has recently had a new timing belt and water pump and pullys etc.any advice would be appreciated.thanks

    Did you changed the tensioner and belt on outside of the engine?

    I will find out the mechanic today.the problem has arisen since I’ve started to do less mileage to work.

    if it does it when you remove and replace the oil filler cap and it only happens on overrun it sounds like it could be crankcase breather related, rather than belt related. you don't say what engine you have.
