    Dear members of forum, I encountered with a tricky issue on my volkswagen jetta 1986 mk2, my tailpipe throw out too much carbon monoxide, so I checked the carburattor and found one pipe (red arrow in image) without any connections, just going nowhere, can anybody help me, I would be most thankfull!

    That vacuum pipe should vent to atmosphere, it is a temperature dependant vacuum actuator controller which uses the hot water in the choke housing to decrease it's affect as the coolant temp increases. The 2E3 is a very difficult carburettor to repair, it could just be an adjustment issue, a split adjuster tube O ring or any one of a dozen or so problems which can cost more to repair than it does to fit a Weber conversion.

    So I should just leave it opened?

    you could, but you still need to tune the car


    hence stick on a Weber carb
    VW POLO 2002 1.2 12v , Audi A6 2006 2.0 TDi SE , Skoda Fabia 1.4 TDi

    All 3 cars in the current fleet
