2018 Map update

I'm downloading the whole lot on my laptop, it might be my last one, not sure! Also done this in the past, SD card updates can also pick up where they left off.

SD Card update seems the way to go - mine's chugging through it in the background to load in... Its > 13GB for the whole of Europe so although it offers you the online update service that's a lot of slow & expensive mobile data allowance to use up, versus a cheaper use of home broadband...

If you are using the eSIM I don't think it matters how big it is! :-)

Mine is using the sim in the glovebox (unlimited data and good 4G so why not) and it picks up where it left off too. Not sure if it didn't / did do that before I updated my mmi unit or not.

If you are using the eSIM I don't think it matters how big it is! :-)

Agree but mine's MY16 and I need to supply my own SIM hence paying for the data...
Also practically that size will take ages surely to download even on 4G if you want the full Europe maps.

Just completed mine via SD Card update. Very simple it keeps chugging away on it in the background and you can restart the car during the update. Clever Audi.
