My own experience with a few Jap and German cars is, if u want simply reliably go for a Jap car. As long as though, u don't mind driving something like a washing machine on wheels!

Talking about air suspension. At 80k miles one of the rear air bag failed so to prevent further surprises I have replaced both for £800 inc labour. Last week MOT failed due to leak from one of the shock absorber at 92k miles. Replaced today and paid £450 inc labour. All works done at independent Audi specialist. At the main dealer would be double the price.

During last two years I have got nothing but trouble with my A7. I have bought it with 67k miles and ever since:

    - problem with coolant leak, 3 times in the garage over 2 months time.

    - problem with headlight condensation

    - problem with fuel cap lock

    - excessive noise through door seals

    - problem with whistling noise during acceleration

    - rear suspension twice as mentioned above

    - problem with bonnet locks

Overall so far I have spent £3500 for maintenance and repairs!

The car is great to drive but reliability...disaster!
