When going into reverse, I get the normal long beep to indicate reverse has been selected. Then sometimes I get the reversing beeps going crazy, sometimes they are fine for a few seconds, then go mental, sometimes they work perfectly fine.

However, I'm panicking cos I keep thinking a child has run behind the car! So fixing it would be best.

I've checked all the sensors, they are all clicking away happily. I've enabled the visual parking aid on the MMI screen but it looks like the sensors are playing up equally (I mean there isn't just one which is the culprit, it seems to be random).

As this has happened after the car was left for a couple of months, I'm wondering if some moisture has got into the main sensor control unit? Anyone no where that might be? Maybe I could dry it out, WD40 it or something?

No lights on the dashboard, just beeps like mad.

    Any help gratefully received!!

    Cheers, Ed.

But the click test leads me to believe that the sensors are ok, cos they are all clicking away. I need to find the main box, and try cleaning contacts or something.

you ideally need a scan to tell which one or more is playing up.

Whats happening is that the sensors are working just reading as if an object is close.

Look at the sensors for a build up of crud ( or car wax) especially around the ring portion, also check that they flush with the bumper as if the have been pushed back due to cleaning this will cause the fault also.

if you have access to VCDS then the measuring blocks for the sensors distance reading should be looked at to find the culprit/culprits.

Ok, I have a friend with VCDS so I'll get a log and see what it says. Cheers.

The mesuring blocks will be better if no code is generated.

You need to look at the parking distance readings, when they have no objects behind they read 255 you are looking for the ones with the smaller distance.

Tried all solutions, but what worked in the end was removing fuses on the drivers side dashboard. Remove, clean fuse with sandpaper, spray electrical contact cleaner into fusebox, replace fuse. Repeat for all fuses.

Took a while, but it’s been fine ever since. (Fingers crossed)

I’d be very interested in this as I’m having the same problem with the same fault codes as you drknmirza. I’m planning on opening the boot and trying to get to the ECU to see if I can figure out why but any tips would be helpful.

I will try with checking the speaker first
It’s behind the rear seat on the driver side.
