    Thoughts please!
Bought my TDi 150 Golf SE last January, 38K on the clock, late 2013 model, from local VW agent, DasWelt warranty.
Went for this as my old 140 TDi A3 was up to 160K, apart from tyres, oils / filters wipers belts and brakes totally original! Served me so well!
So thought the Golf would be as good, if not better!
About a month ago, started pinking, then missing on gentle acceleration up to 2000 rpm.
Back to VW as DasWelt, to be informed that it would require assessment as electrical / wiring would not be covered under warranty! Really surprised!
Anyhow, diagnosed as a faulty injector, cylinder 1 injector replaced - strange, I always thought injectors should be changed as a set!
Well, car back, still pinking / missing slightly, advised "leave it 2 - 3 days, sensors will correct and it'll stop"
So - 10 days on, still pinking and missing! Back to VW.
Collected it today, seems fixed, nice and quiet and pulls like a train again!
FIX - other 3 injectors changed as they were "out of tolerance"!!!!!!
    ISSUES:-
1- car has now done 50K miles, serviced by VW, and NEVER ran dry in my ownership. Injectors failing at 50K miles?
2 - interesting that in 10 days since first repair, the other 3 injectors had become "out of tolerance" and required replacement! Hmmmmmmm!
3 - Advised that if I was paying for the three injectors, would have cost about £1500 inc labour! so, reckon that's £2K for changing all 4!
So, 4 year old car, with 50k miles needing a £2k repair, not best pleased!
Are injectors now considered "consumables" Only lasting this age / miles?
    I really am concerned!

Not that it helps you, but i've come to the conclusion a while back that common rail diesels in cars are more trouble than they're worth. I had the misfortune of working on a 2014 citroen van last week with 1.3 diesel, turns out the Bosch high pressure pump was leaking diesel onto the exhaust at 80k, owner got rid sharpish rather than pay £££ up. Any savings from better mpg are wiped out by repair costs like yours and geting good diagnosis, repairs and set up seems to be tricky. You've done 12k miles since january so probably not worth you even having a diesel, IMHO get rid while its running well and get a petrol.

The total cost for fitting a set of new genuine VW injectors to a CR TDI shopping trolley (Golf, Polo etc) is just over £2000, having just done a set on a Golf 7, that is around £250 more a set fitted than for an Audi S8 5.2 litre V10, still direct injection, with the Lambo engine that we currently have in for work. As I have said, Diesel is dead...
