I've a 2.0TDi C6A6, according to the service manual the the intervals are 19k or two years. When I bought the car it had 53k on and was service 12/6/15 it was serviced 10/5/16 at 63k then 4/2/17 at 74k and is not telling me it needs doing again at 81k. Is this right or is someone having my pants down and not properly resetting the service counter?

Surely a car that runs 95% of it's mileage in 6th gear on a motorway shouldn't need servicing THAT often and with such low mileage intervals.

The oil goes sluggy if left in the engine too long (after the 2 year period thats if you know if its got VW 507 oil in it).

The oil pump and the turo need to be running in good oil to prolong their life.

The 10k once a year is the best option.

A £40-50 oil change is alot cheaper than replacing a balancer oil pump or a turbo.

Do nothing and you will find out how expensive this car can be to fix.

This is just the retail price of a 5l of VW507 spec oil.

Ebay maybe cheaper and you can get 20l drums for around £80 if you want to store it.
