oh no proving hard to get both slave and master as they never fail....

please tell me there is no internal mechanical failure..

I did check the fluid level and it seems to be lower than it should, the clutch pedal seems to be dry and that is why i think slave. will have to get below her tonight ( the car) and hopefully find fluid at the slave.

Maybe there is not enough oil in gearbox? Or clutch is worn?

Check the brake fluid level to see if the level has dropped below the clutch hose.

If if so then you either have a leak or the Slave cylinder may be leaking.

If if you can't see a leak then check the tell tell hole in the bell housing for a wet mark.

Slaves do fail. But my symptoms were; slight judder on first use from cold; and then just a bit of slip under large applications of torque in higher gears. So not the same as you describe. It was leaking onto the clutch plate but your possible leak may be going somewhere else. Good luck.

The slipping may indicate need to replace clutch, what ever the problem is should be evident when dismantled.

quick update, i got elsawin fired up, to remove the slave requires part of the exhaust to come off and the gear linkage, aint going to do that in the drive just to see...
But i did get it bleed, from above, didn't see any air or dirt come out bu the change feels slicker. drove it to work this morning about an hours drive approx 16 miles!! rush hour traffic. drove it like it was made of glass and i am sure my heart skipped a beat each time i used my left foot.
It made it with no sign of anything untoward - if it aint broke i cant fix it....
.... I have a rope in the boot just in case LOL
i cant seem to find how to swap the master out in elsawin?!?!? wanted to see what hidden gems are in that job...
i will keep the post updated,
