    Hi All,

My Audi front speaker sounds atrocious. I have the Black edition so it's the Bose speakers in there. Unfortunately for telephone calls, they all come from the front speaker and it's so distorted that I can't make it out which is annoying especially since I use the car for work and need to be able to take phone calls!

I took it back to the dealer I got it from (Huntingdon) and they said that it's normal which I knew was rubbish, so I took it to another dealer (Harold Wood) and they said it's not normal at all. My original salesman told me to just get it fixed under the warranty as it's covered and it's taken me several months to actually find time and get a booking at Harold Wood to get it repaired.

It's booked in for tomorrow (and have been for 2 months) but today I received a call that apparently speakers are not covered under my warranty??

Can anyone confirm this? My warranty says "Approved Warranty - All Component Cover".

    The booklet says:

    What is covered
All electrical and mechanical factory-fitted components are covered againstelectrical or mechanical failure.
    Other than:
Replacement parts and labour will be paid for with the following exceptions:
    • Routine servicing (all parts replaced associated with routine servicingare excluded)
    • All bodywork, glass including heated rear screens and seals
    • All adjustments, cam belt timing, diesel pump timing or cleaning
    • Batteries• Brake frictional material• Bulbs, including Xenon and fuses
    • Coolant pipes and hoses
    • Clutch frictional material
    • CV boot gaiters
    • DPF filters
    • Exhaust systems (catalytic converters are covered for internal failure)
    • Upholstery, interior and exterior trims
    • Non-manufacturer’s original parts
    • Tyres and wheels
    • Unencased drive belts
    • Wiper blades and arms
    • Wiring and connections (including HT leads and aerial coaxial cables)

Which one of those says speakers are not covered? I tried to call the original salesman and he's gone! Trying to get hold of customer relations is never easy either, have left a message but no response!

    Any advice would be appreciated!

Nothing on there reads anything like “speaker”. I’d say you’re covered and the simply can’t be ***** doing the work - as warranty work doesn’t earn them money. You could try a letter to Audi UK, or failing that start some form of protest. I’ve gone in daily got a cup of coffee and left before - 4 days later they agreed to fix my car. Lucky as after a week I was going to block the entrance to the showroom with my car until they fixed it!
