Evening all, I’m Jamie and in need of your help!
My son has a mk4 golf 1.4 16v 2003 model, as most of you know the gearboxes are rubbish and I had to replace it. I got a box from a 1.6 mk4 as I believe they are the same from what I’ve read online, same code on both boxes, anyway fitted the new gearbox and all was good until it started eating N/S driveshafts, he is now on his 4th driveshaft 😡 any ideas what could be wrong? All mounts are good and it’s not lowered. Also i have noticed the n/s wheel is flush with the arch if you use a level and the o/s is around 15mm inside the arch, am I using the wrong driveshaft??
    Thanks for any help.
