    Hello All,

I have a 2013 1.6tdi BM Passat, which has been my pride and joy since 2014. I have had no issues with it and runs very smoothly.

Average MPG from her tends to be 60, and ive had as good as 90 on a run down the M4.

However since August I have gotten nothing over 40mph, averaging only 35. The start/stop function has also stopped operating. I have NOT had the emissions fix done as I am aware of the other issues that causes and im not fixing what isnt broken.

I thought it might be it being overdue a service, so it had a full service at the start of October, but this has not rectified anything

Has anyone got any idea on why suddenly, the mpg has dramatically fallen and why the start/stop has stop working? I dont have any tools to plug the car in, as well as not really having the money available to take it in to VW.

    Thanks,
    Mark

    90 mpg ???

My SS does not function in cold weather i.e. when the engine temp has not reached a certain level. It's part of the system. Recently we have hit 4C and it has only functioned when water temp is 90C for obvious reasons.

Yeah it was a steady cruise from Wales to Heathrow one morning a few years ago. Couldnt believe it myself, but manual calculations showed it was true too. 90.8MPG for 127 mile journey.

I know that start/stop only works at certain parameters, but since August for it never to have met these? I doubt it. But its the fuel consumption that worries me more.
