I bought this car private last august, 120k miles, and on the 1st day gearbox broke down. I will try to keep it short as much as possible...
I found a shop to rebuild it (CVT), however the guy said that he cant give me the warranty if i cant solve the engine misfire problem. He told me to brought back in 14 days to validate the warranty.
It took nearly 2 months from one shop to another, and finally the engine changed on the 4th shop. However, the misfire problem was still on. Engine guy suggested to change injectors, he found second hand injectors himself couple of time, he made me bought twice from ebay, however, they were not good and at the end, the misfire is still there.
Flywheel broke down few months later, i changed it with new. Afterwards, turbo charger, shafts, EGR valve, radiator, and so many part that i cant remember change changed.
    I spent a fortune...
3-4 months ago it started shake while going around 50-60 miles, possibly 6th gear, around 2000rpm, if i slightly give gas to accelerate, the car starts heavily shaking. Like, its in the wrong gear or something. If i push the gas pedal harder, gear goes down and shaking goes off. However if i want to keep the speed 50-60, it does.
    The engine guy blames gearbox.
I brought it gearbox guy today, he tested, and guess what, he blames engine...

And there still misfire problem though... and nothing comes up on computer..

    Possibly the worst car ever...

Anyone has an idea on what might be the reason on this heavy shake on slow accelaration?

    Many thanks in advance.

    Can

I have a 2005 A4 B7 with the BLB engine and the multitronic trans. It was shaking violently in 6th and 7th gear in manual mode when under 2000 RPM and I wanted to accelerate, it rarely happened in auto mode. Long story short, it turned out wrong oil was used in the trans at the previous owner, it was filled to the brim with standard red ATF instead of CVT fluid. Oil was changed twice with Febi CVT fluid, after first change the shaking was gone in 6th gear but still present in 7th, after the second change it is now completely gone. I will do another trans oil change together with the next engine oil change in the summer. I'm also prepared that my transmission has probably suffered from the wrong oil and will probably fail on me sooner or later.

The multitronic CVT must be used with the correct spec oil only, using it with the wrong oil can and will lead to failure. Make sure your gearbox guy used the correct oil and doesn't want to f*k you over.

    Hi Desmond0313,
We discovered that 6 months ago, it was wrong red oil filled by the gearbox specialist, we changed with the original CVT oil. However, problem has not improved, actually it got worsen since then. It is making the shakes now in 5-6-7th gears on below 2500 rpm when pulling. Nightmare goes on, also few new problems arrive though, it had a leak in engine oil about a month ago, it had a leak in engine cooler 2 weeks ago, and yesterday the fan switch broken down on “on” mode, dried the battery.. it is possibly the worst car ever been built by Audi.. thanks for your comment though...

Since only about 3/4 of the oil comes out of the gearbox when you drain it, you have to change the oil multiple times to fully get rid of it. Also due to the material they're made of, the clutch plates absorb the red oil and they need time to get cleaned out. For me, it was after the second oil change that the shaking went away, but the gearbox still doesn't behave as it should, especially when slowing down to a stop, it has a noticable shake when you're close to stopping, and even the RPMs dip under the idle RPM for a second or so. It would be also a good idea to change the external gearbox oil filter, which I'm also planning to do.

I hope you can sort your problems out. I too had my nightmare with the engine, I had the balance shaft chain snap on me in April this year, I'm very lucky that my engine survived. I bought a gear driven balance shaft module to replace the chain driven one so I don't have to worry about that anymore.
