Thanks AT, how much did it cost you in the end, and which seal do I need to check for, is it easy to replace? Sorry for asking so many questions, I'm abit of a novice at this...

Unfortunately it costs me a lot, because I had to replace the entire unit IMHO, to replace the sealing could cost only a minimal ammount.

Thanks, I'd better run it past the local garage before I end up regretting it, I'm going to hook up my VCDS tomorrow, not sure if it will show up or not.

It did show up as 03544 - Left Brake Light Lamp 2, 012 - Electrical Fault in Circuit - Intermittent. I've cleared it and it's gone but I think I might need to do something about this, just a pain to open everything up.

Finally managed to take the light cluster out, it was the internal left one and had some water drops/condensation inside it. I've thoroughly dried it and then sealed using Mapei bathroom sealant, Re-fitting was a pain but manageable after I tightened the screw holding the bracket before popping the cluster back in. VCDS showed a number of errors after fitting it back in but once cleared it all seems ok. I found the following website video very useful to remove the clusTer:

    Tail Light Change 2012-2016 Audi A6 Quattro - 2013 Audi A6 Quattro Premium 3.0L V6 Supercharged

For those that are interested the replacement part number is 4G5 945 093 A

BTW, Audi are charging around £250 for the replacement cluster and £50 for fitting.
