    Hi All,

I have a 2.0L TDI which i recently had remapped (along with EGR removal) after the emissions update had decreased the cars performance and fearing a dreaded EGR failure.

Now at about every 400 miles like clockwork the DPF light appears along with a higher idling RPM and the fan running. My mileage is around 35 miles daily so i presume i am giving the car enough of a run out.

Is it possible this has been caused by the Remap/ EGR removal or just unfortunate coincidence? I have contacted the company who have done the remap and they seem to think i need a DPF removal (something i am reluctant to do.)

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Yes you need dpf removal as a working egr is a prerequisite of dpf regeneration it helps regulate both the pressure and temperature .

The remappers should of known this , who are they ?

So the options are Stage 1 remap file keeping egr software or dpf delete and relevant Stage 1 dpf & egr out .

I guarantee you a genuine mpg gain with the dpf gutted , also as you may or may not know about the egr benefits of turbo spool , cleaner oil and cleaner induction inlet , full oxygenated combustion , egr causing incomplete combustion , etc .

    Okay thanks for the info!

I'd prefer to keep the DPF so if I ask that the remap be updated to program the EGR back on this should (hopefully) solve the problem?
